All of our classrooms, age 3-15, are included in our Accredited School status through the American Montessori Society (AMS) and through SACS/AdvancED. We are committed to serving as a model public Montessori school to help fully implemented public Montessori education become a reality for more children across the nation.
Lakeland Montessori Public Schools has an immediate opening for a Lower Elementary lead teacher (grades 1-3) in an established AMS accredited classroom with a wonderful assistant teacher. We are in our 17th year of operation and are committed to serving as a high-fidelity, fully implemented Montessori school to help public Montessori education become a reality for more children across the nation. Candidate must already hold a Bachelor’s Degree. If candidate needs Montessori certification, the school will sponsor elementary Montessori training at our on-site MACTE accredited Montessori training center or any MACTE accredited training center of candidate’s choice. Your certification will also provide the opportunity for you to earn your Master’s Degree in Education. While completing certification, candidate would work as the Lead teacher of the classroom with oversight by our Elementary I-II Montessori certified Principal. Our Elementary program also has three other Elementary I-II certified teachers for team support.
Salary range is $41,572 – $66,090 depending on years of experience. We currently have thousands of students on our waitlist, however, our employees’ children receive preference for enrollment. Our employees are also provided with 10 paid days of leave plus summers off, a week off for Fall Break, two weeks off for Winter Break, a week off for Spring Break, 6 other holidays off, $7000.00 per year towards the choice of benefits and/or health expense reimbursement, and begin vesting towards our excellent retirement plan on day one of their full-time employment. Applications for other positions will be placed into a pool for future openings. Positions available for application are Early Childhood (age 3-6; grades PreK3, PreK4, and KG), Lower Elementary (age 6-9; grades 1-3), Upper Elementary (age 9-12; grades 4-6), and Secondary (age 12-15; grades 7&8). Salaries and benefits are highly competitive with the Polk County School District as we adopt the PCSB salary schedules.
